The Mission Endowment Fund supports mission projects within the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana mission territory.  The Fund helps to plants "Seeds That Change" from mere ideas into the blessed fruit of sharing God's grace through His Son, Jesus Christ.  The Mission Endowment Fund supports special causes in the mission territory that might otherwise go unfunded - God's work realized.

The Fund operates much like a foundation, with the core endowment acting as principal.  The income generated by investing this corpus is distributed annually throughout the NT-NL in the form of grants. 

Our Focus

The Mission Endowment Fund Seeks to support mission projects within the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana mission territory of the ELCA.  We have three main areas of focus:
●  Assisting new mission congregations
●  Supporting churches with exceptional potential but inadequate financial resources.
●  Launching innovative projects with special promise  for carrying out God's mission in the mission territory and the world.

How are Projects Chosen?

The Board of Directors, made up of clergy and lay members, oversees and directs the work of the Mission Endowment Fund.  The Board of Directors meets four times a year and makes funding decisions regarding proposals that have been submitted.  

How can my congregation help?

We urge all congregations to join in the continued growth of the endowment by including the Mission Endowment Fund as a line item in their budget and by special offerings.  We also encourage  congregations, pastors and lay persons to come forward with ideas for needed mission projects.

How Can I Help?

You can contribute to the Mission Endowment Fund through direct gifts for particular projects or through an endowment gift which, unless otherwise directed, becomes part of the permanent endowment corpus.  Only the earnings on the corpus of the Fund are used to support the various projects approved by the Board.  Gifts to the fund are tax-deductible.

Congregations, individuals and board members contribute to the budget each year, providing funds for the endowment and operation of the Fund.  We encourage every congregation to include the Mission Endowment Fund in its benevolence budget or take up a special offering during the year to help us reach the goal of sharing thee love of Christ Jesus in the NT-NL mission territory and throughout the world. 

We need to increase the fund and we need your help!  The Lord blesses all gifts, large and small.  Your endowment gift may be in the form of cash, securities or life insurance.  You individual tax situation will determine what is best for you.
